ATF agents from North Dakota to be honored

Five special agents from the Fargo field office of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will be honored for their investigative work at a ceremony in Washington.

BISMARCK (AP) — Five special agents from the Fargo field office of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will be honored for their investigative work at a ceremony in Washington.

Special Agents Cory Borkenhagen, Lowell Erickson, Burton Rutter, Russell Traurig and Jason Wambach will receive an honorable mention award at the Top Cops Awards Saturday. The National Association of Police Organizations puts on the annual event.

The agents are assigned to investigating and arresting narcotics traffickers, gang members and people conducting racketeering operations. Their work has led to the prosecution of 13 individuals for violations of the Armed Career Criminal Act.
