What is your opinion of Measure 2, the measure that would abolish property taxes?
“The idea it would take control from local government is a concern. Some say we don’t have much control but I’d like to keep what we have. If the measure had something definitive about what would replace it I might vote for it.”
Jerry Strahm

“The principle of Measure 2 is on the right track. However, eliminating property taxes doesn’t seem like a sustainable solution and it would de-localize decisions. There are definitely better, more sustainable and localized solutions available to provide tax relief for North Dakota citizens.”
Blaze Culliton

“I don’t know, after reading the articles in the newspaper I don’t know how I’m going to vote on that.”
Phyllis Denchfield

“I don’t think it should go through because somewhere along the line, they’re going to hit us with something worse.”
Shelby Oberlander
Jamestown
“It is a great concept but they don’t have something in place to replace it. Property tax in Jamestown is way out of line compared to other cities.”
Jenny Kleven
Jamestown
“On the surface, Measure 2 seems like a good idea. Examining it closer, it would only take away local funding that would need to be replenished through increasing other taxes.”
Rebecca Owen
Jamestown
“It’d be pointless because there’s no point in getting rid of one tax to raise others.”
Danielle Davis

“If you abolish the tax, you’re just going to have to pay for it somewhere else, which will probably be income.”
