Letter to the editor: Berg’s votes on issues speak for themselves

The recent letters to the editor in support of Rick Berg have been entertaining. One of them proclaims Berg to be a leader, even though his own party stripped him of his leadership position when he was in the Legislature.

The recent letters to the editor in support of Rick Berg have been entertaining. One of them proclaims Berg to be a leader, even though his own party stripped him of his leadership position when he was in the Legislature. Another called him “humble” and a different writer tried to make the case Berg works with both parties. My favorite was when a writer said “Rick is a country boy.”

I don’t know that I’ve ever read a more canned set of letters to the editor.

In reality, Berg has been a hyper-partisan, ineffective, Wall Street puppet from his first day on the job. His votes speak for themselves. His vote for the Republican budget that would pretty much end Medicare was unbelievable, and he’s had plenty of other bad votes besides that one.

I’m looking forward to the next batch of letters in support of Berg. Maybe someone will call him “a fighter for the poor.” Wouldn’t that be a hoot.
