Top Designers fundraiser raises more than $4,000

Top Designers Salon & Spa raised $4,100 for the Sexual Assault Response Team Saturday.

Top Designers Salon & Spa raised $4,100 for the Sexual Assault Response Team Saturday.

Twenty stylists participated, offering $15 haircuts. Massages, glitter tattoos, barbecues and a silent auction also contributed to the fundraising efforts.

Julie Stahlecker, owner of Top Designers, said she was thrilled at the community’s support of the event and the donations people gave.

SART provides victims of sexual assault with confidential examinations and gives the results to law enforcement, helping streamline the process to make it easier on victims. One of its funding sources, a federal grant, decreased by 72 percent in the past four years, leaving SART in need of funding alternatives.
