Sweets sampled at Chocolate Fantasia event

Fans of chocolate had a sweet time last Sunday sampling chocolate and wines at the third annual Chocolate Fantasia. A $10 ticket bought seven samples of chocolate treats at Zonta’s fundraising event last Sunday at the Gladstone Inn & Suites. Those attending tasted the chocolate concoctions, sipped wines and voted for their favorite. This year the award for best chocolate went to the NDSH/G & D Loper Relay for Life Team who made Oreo truffles.

“This was a wonderful event with so many different organizations and businesses participating. The Oreo truffles from the Relay for Life team were delicious!” said Kara Helgeson, Chocolate Fantasia chairperson.

Approximately 100 people took part in the event, enjoying chocolate and wine in a leisurely afternoon visiting with friends and family. They also had opportunity to visit with 12 different home-based businesses or organizations, pick up information, or purchase items such as hand bags, jewelry, fine bedding or more chocolate treats.

Proceeds from this event will support scholarship awards to young women, Safe Shelter, Sexual Assault Response Team and other activities that help to advance the status of women.

The Zonta Club of Jamestown is part of Zonta International, a global service organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service, advocacy, and fellowship.
