Former tribal officer in ND faces charge
A former Three Affiliated Tribes police officer is accused of harboring two escapees from a jail in New Town.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A former Three Affiliated Tribes police officer is accused of harboring two escapees from a jail in New Town.
Federal court documents show that Jessica Folden pleaded not guilty during an initial appearance in federal court via videoconference on Monday. She was released on a personal recognizance bond.
Bureau of Indian Affairs Special Agent Michael White testified in an affidavit that two men who escaped from the Gerald Tex Fox Justice Center on Saturday took refuge in Folden's home in New Town. He says Folden lied to investigating officers about the whereabouts of the fugitives and initially refused to allow officers to search her home.
White says the two escapees surrendered after a couple of hours and Folden was arrested for hindering law officers.
