The Stutsman County Commission moved forward on repairing and continuing upkeep of some of the county’s roads at its meeting Tuesday.
Commissioners unanimously approved engineering agreements for three sections of County Road 67 — for $11,591, $12,138 and $31,393 — all on portions of the road south of Cleveland.
The county contracts with the North Dakota Department of Transportation for those repairs, 80 percent of which are paid for by the state and 20 percent by the county.
The commission also awarded a bid of $480,821 for a grade raise at Stink Lake to RTS Shearing of Jamestown.
Additionally, the commission agreed to bring two other emergency road repairs up to federal standards — one at the total cost of $691,500 and the other at the cost of $938,000. The county would also pay 20 percent of those costs, with the state picking up the remainder.
In other news Tuesday, the commission renewed its insurance policies with Insure Forward for 2012 at a total annual cost of $77,776, up from 2011’s total cost of $68,576.
The commission adjourned and met as the Stutsman County Parks Board to award a permit to Lakeview at Spiritwood, which will allow Michael Chaney, Teresa Nowell and Bridget Harkness to start up Lakeview Restaurant and Bar in an existing building on county-owned land at Spiritwood Lake.
