Jays play Minot for fourth spot

The Jamestown High School baseball team can clinch the No. 4 seed for the West Region tournament with a win vs. Minot at Surrey today.

The Jamestown High School baseball team can clinch the No. 4 seed for the West Region tournament with a win vs. Minot at Surrey today.

The game will serve as a small preview for both teams, as they’re locked into the 4-5 game and will meet each other in the opening round of regionals, which begins Thursday in Williston.

A Jamestown win would give both teams a 7-7 region record with the tiebreaker going to the Jays, who beat Minot at home earlier this season.

A Jamestown loss would drop it into a tie with Bismarck High, but the Jays would win the tiebreaker thanks to a season sweep over the Demons.
