Donation will give Fessenden new park shelter

The Fessenden Park District will be able to purchase a new park shelter thanks to America’s Farmers Grow Communities.

The Fessenden Park District will be able to purchase a new park shelter thanks to America’s Farmers Grow Communities.

Grow Communities gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. Janell Rudel was the winning farmer in Wells County. She recognized the need for improvement and directed the donation to the Fessenden Park District.

The organization will use the $2,500 to purchase a new park shelter. The shelter will be used during the summer for picnics, parties and community events.

“The Fessenden Park District relies solely on donations and mill levies,” said Stephanie Johnson, Park Board president. “This generous donation from Janell Rudel and the Monsanto Fund will be used in the shelter renovation project in the park. We can’t thank the Rudels enough for thinking of us.”

In a ceremony held on May 9 at Fessenden City Hall, Rudel presented the Fessenden Park District with the $2,500 donation.
