Grand Forks fire damages home, burns woman's foot

A Grand Forks woman sought treatment at a hospital for a burn on her foot after a house fire in the city.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Grand Forks woman sought treatment at a hospital for a burn on her foot after a house fire in the city.

Firefighters tell WDAZ-TV that the fire began about 7 p.m. Thursday when a plastic dog kennel was set atop a stove and the stove was accidentally turned on. They say the woman took the burning kennel outside and it started the side of the home on fire.

Damage is estimated at about $2,000.
