Buffalo chip to cattle killer(s)

The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos and a buffalo chip this week:

* Bravo to Cole Huber and Chelsey Fiebiger, Jamestown, who rescued two motorists from a sunken car in Hobart Lake. The two victims would likely have died without help from Huber and Fiebiger.

* Bravo to the Atonement Lutheran Church Women of the ELCA, who put together 100 quilts, 20 layettes and six personal care kits to be delivered to Fargo for the Spring Lutheran World Relief Drive.

* Bravo to the 115 Jamestown High School freshmen who took part in the Teen Community Emergency Response Team disaster drill exercise earlier this month. The exercise helped students practice for responding to a disaster.

* Buffalo chip to whoever killed 14 cattle in a pasture near Hankinson, N.D., earlier this month. A reward of $1,000 has been offered for information that helps authorities track down the person responsible. People with information are asked to call 701-642-7711.

* Bravo to Ringdahl EMS for providing free CPR training this week at five locations in the region, including Jamestown Ambulance and First Medic Ambulance in Lisbon, N.D.

* Bravo to all the organizers of festivities in honor of Peggy Lee and the Midland Continental Railroad and all who made the museum dedicated to them a reality. The museum in Wimbledon, N.D., opens this weekend.

* Bravo to the restoration of the football rivalry between North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota. The two schools have not played each other since 2003 and have set tentative dates to resume the series in 2015.
