Highway construction starts Thursday

Construction will begin Thursday on U.S. Highway 52 south of Carrington and will continue south to N.D. Highway 9. Work consists of a grade raise, culvert replacement and pavement marking.

During construction:

* Speeds will be reduced

* Motorists may experience brief delays

* A 11.5-foot width restriction will be in place

* Flaggers may be present

* Pilot cars will be used in work areas

* Oil and gravel may be present on the roadway

The project is expected to be completed by mid-October.

The traveling public should use caution when driving through the construction zone. Motorists should allow extra distance between their vehicles and the vehicles in front of them, use extra caution and obey flaggers and posted signs.
