REgistrations still accepted for various IMC programs

The 57th season of the International Music Camp begins June 17, with six one-week fine and performing arts instructional programs, along with performances and exhibitions during June and July. In addition, a four-day adult program provides training and fun for adult musicians involved in band, choir, women’s and men’s barbershop chorus, brass band, orchestra, handbells, art and world percussion.

The 57th season of the International Music Camp begins June 17, with six one-week fine and performing arts instructional programs, along with performances and exhibitions during June and July. In addition, a four-day adult program provides training and fun for adult musicians involved in band, choir, women’s and men’s barbershop chorus, brass band, orchestra, handbells, art and world percussion.

IMC provides arts experiences in more than 40 different arts disciplines, including band, jazz band, total percussion, choir, vocal jazz, orchestra, piano/organ, dance, digital photography, drama, creative writing, garage band, guitar, handbells, university prep, and visual art. Two new programs debut in 2012: Sculpture and Barbershop Chorus.

Each one-week session includes master classes, rehearsals, recitals, exhibitions, concerts, recre- ational activities and more.

Faculty and staff from more than 23 states and provinces are confirmed for the 2012 season. Approximately 2,000 students from around the world are expected to attend camp in 2012. The International Music Camp has been located at the International Peace Garden since 1956.

International students attending IMC this season come from 10 countries, including: Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Honduras, Luxembourg, Norway, Singapore, Slovenia, Suriname and Sweden.
