Letter to the editor: Taylor’s message resonates with folks who aren’t rich

Somewhere in Bismarck this past Monday night there was a fundraiser for Gov. Jack Dalrymple where you could buy a seat at a table for $1,000. Needless to say, I couldn’t afford to go to that one. From what I hear, Dalrymple isn’t interested in hearing from blue-collar guys like me.
But I was at something better that night anyway. I was at a picnic where almost 200 people showed up to toss 10 bucks into a jar and share a hamburger with Ryan Taylor.
Ryan is a sincere guy with a sincere message and he’s drawing crowds that I haven’t seen in a long while. His message is resonating with people young and old, folks from the city and folks from the farm — including people who have never been interested in politics before or have been turned off by what they’ve seen these past few years.
In fact, I overheard someone I sat next to say that she is terribly frustrated by politicians these days and came to hear someone different. She said she is looking for an honest leader to step forward to lead this state.
I think she found who she’s looking for in Ryan Taylor.
