The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos this week:

*Bravo to the organizers of Memorial Day observances in this area.

*Bravo to candidates for Jamestown City Council and Jamestown Public School Board for participating in the Sun’s “On the Issues” election series of questions. Providing answers to questions gives voters an opportunity to learn more about the candidates’ views on critical issues to the community.

*Bravo to the organizers of “A Tribute to Miss Peggy Lee” and the opening of the Midland Continental Railroad Wimbledon (N.D.) Depot Featuring Peggy Lee last week.

*Bravo to the opening of Pepper’s Dog Park in Jamestown. The official opening on Thursday was a long-awaited event for dog lovers. We hope many people and their pets use the park regularly.

*Bravo to the Carrington Cardinals girls track and field team for winning its seventh Class B state championship on May 26 in Bismarck. And bravo to Josey Page, individual champion in the 200, with a time of 25.80 seconds and her teammate, Sierra Rosenau, who repeated as the javelin champion, with a throw of 137 feet, 7 inches.

*Bravo to Alison Allmer, the Jamestown High School junior who won her second straight 1,600-meter run title at the Class A state meet.

*Bravo to Jamestown High School graduates and other area graduates upon their successful completion of school. We wish the graduates all the best in their future endeavors.
