28 students earn their GEDs

The James Valley Adult Learning Center held its graduation ceremony on May 16 at the Jamestown High School theater. Twenty-eight students successfully completed the GED examinations this school year. Fourteen graduates attended the ceremony. Two graduates requested to remain anonymous.

The James Valley Adult Learning Center held its graduation ceremony on May 16 at the Jamestown High School theater. Twenty-eight students successfully completed the GED examinations this school year. Fourteen graduates attended the ceremony. Two graduates requested to remain anonymous.

John Lynch, director of the James Valley Career & Technology Center, gave the welcome and introduced Greg Allen, president of the Jamestown Public School Board, who addressed the graduates.

Joan Morris announced the recipient of the Marion Morris GED Award. The award is given annually to a student who exhibits a strong desire to improve his/her education.

This year the award was given to Janessa Ryan.
