2012 marks the sixth anniversary of Beyer’s death. He was killed in action while serving with the 101st Airborne near Baghdad, Iraq. This scholarship is to honor not only Beyer’s memory but also a reminder to all of the sacrifices made each and every day by U.S. servicemen and women.
The Beyer family continues to be grateful for the continued financial support of this scholarship from family, friends, community and the Goodrich Corporation, and said they wish Truax the best of luck in her future.
The Spec. Paul A. Beyer Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Jamestown Public School Foundation.
