Comedy

Jamestown Community Open Mic is at 7 p.m. every fourth Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 405 Second Ave. NE. All performers are welcome.

Around Town

Wood carving with a local wood carving group is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Arts Center’s Hansen Studio. There is no charge. Call Andy Kudrna at 320-5075 with questions.

Parks program, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Wilson Arena, Meidinger, McElroy and Nickeus parks. The program is for children ages 6-12. There is no admission fee.

Special Events

The 27th Annual North Dakota Farm Toy Show & Auction & Craft Show is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 16 and 17 at the LaMoure School gymnasium.

Weekly youth track meet, each Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Jamestown College track. The event is open to all ages. There is no admission charge.

Wednesday Night Wheels, a show for two-and-four wheel vehicles is from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the SuperValu parking lot in Carrington, N.D. There is no admission cost.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

The Stutsman County Memorial Museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through September. The museum is located at 321 Third Ave. SE. There is no admission charge.

Alfred Dickey Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464. The library is located at 105 Third St. SE.

Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. SE.

The Arts Center, 115 Second St. SW, Jamestown, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and by appointment Sunday. There is no admission charge.

The Putnam House in Carrington is open for special events and by appointment by calling 701-652-2090. There is no admission charge.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.

The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown, N.D., is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Contact Mark Sundlov at 701-797-3691 for more information.

Midland Continental Railroad Depot Featuring Peggy Lee in Wimbledon, N.D., is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day. It’s also open by appointment by calling 701-435-2333.

Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center near Pingree, N.D., is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The refuge trail system is open daily sunrise to sunset.

Art

Introduction to Pottery Wheel, with Tammy Jones, is from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays through June 25 at the Hansen Studio. Cost is $50 for Arts Center members and $60 for others. Call the Arts Center at 251-2496 for more information.

Eventide at Hi-Acres residents’ art is on display at Unison Bank for the month of June. Unison features a new artist in its lobby each month.

“Capture the Coteau,” exhibit at the Arts Center, 115 Second St. NW, features work from nine different regional artists. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and by appointment Sunday. There is no admission charge.
