West Fargo’s Sydney Greenlund, who was named the Gatorade Player of the Year on Thursday, will play for coach Kevin Gall and the Jimmies.

The 5-foot-5 catcher/third baseman helped lead the Packers (33-2) to their 15th straight state championship last weekend.

Greenlund, who also carries a 3.98 GPA, hit a robust .465 this past season with three home runs, 41 RBIs, 49 runs scored and a whopping .711 slugging percentage.

She is a two-time all-state and all-East Region selection.

Greenlund joins a Jimmie team that won the Dakota Athletic Conference championship and finished with a record of 28-23 this spring.
