Letter to the editor: Heinrich is the right candidate for the Senate

I have been asked why I got involved with the District 12 Senate race. The answer is not difficult.

After serving in the Senate for 46 years you realize the attributes of a good senator. It all begins with the candidate’s community involvement. This is the proving ground, the qualification, of what it takes to be a North Dakota senator. This is the place one learns to get along with people; show your willingness to lead and be responsible; and demonstrate your ability to get things done which includes those times when no one else wants to do the job.

Dwaine Heinrich has many, many times demonstrated those qualities and is now ready to turn those talents in to becoming a statewide leader. Yes, it will take some time to learn the rules. But Heinrich is a fast learner. To accomplish what he has in Jamestown recognizes not only his learning ability, but also his leadership ability.

Join me in voting for Republican candidate Heinrich for District 12 state senator. You will be voting for a real leader!
