March to honor ND Guard members killed in action

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota National Guard family members plan to honor all of the state's Guard soldiers killed in the global war on terrorism.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota National Guard family members plan to honor all of the state's Guard soldiers killed in the global war on terrorism.

The "Memorial Road March" is scheduled Sunday in Bismarck. The nine-mile trek begins at the Memorial to The Fallen in the Global War on Terrorism and ends at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

The march will begin with a short remembrance ceremony at 9:38 a.m., the exact time that Cpl. Curtis Mehrer and Sgt. Travis Van Zoest, both Bismarck natives, were killed in action on June 6, 2006.

Marchers will begin assembling at the Bank of North Dakota parking lot at 8:30 a.m.
