The Jamestown Planning Commission will hold a plat and annexation hearing on June 25 for the Titan Machinery project west of Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
The commission scheduled the special meeting for 8 a.m. June 25, at City Hall during its regular meeting Monday.
A plat and annexation hearing requires legal notice and advertisement 10 days before the hearing. Harley Trefz, Planning Commission chairman, said June 25 was the earliest the issue could be heard.
The hearing will address annexing additional property into Jamestown city limits, change the zoning of that property to commercial and include that parcel with another parcel already within city limits in a single plat, according to Rob Thompson, president of C.I. Construction, project manager for the Titan Machinery project.
“We’re looking to break ground as soon as we have the approval,” Thompson said. “It is going well now working with the Planning Commission and the City Council. There were early glitches but we’re moving forward now.”
Thompson said the project involves constructing a 55,000-square-foot main building and 20,000 square feet in storage buildings. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2013.
The City Council approved a developer’s agreement with C.I. Construction during its meeting June 4. The agreement calls for the city and developer to work out an agreement for water and sewer service in the future.
In other business, the Planning Commission approved the final plat for RTS First Addition. The property is located southeast of North Dakota State Hospital.
In a separate action, the Planning Commission approved a change in zoning for a portion of RTS First Addition from agriculture to limited industrial.
The commission also approved a zoning change for lots 13 and 14, block 1, Prairie Park Addition from local commercial to residential. The lots are located at the intersection of 17th Avenue and 10th Street Southwest.
