Monica Lubbers and Lue Struble were in charge of the leap year birthday party held at the James River Senior and Community Center. The Jewels enjoyed a pork loin dinner with Jackie Tarpinian providing homemade fudge for dessert. Champagne was served. Members divided their ages by four for leap year, and brought pictures of themselves from that age. There were high school and college pictures, dating and wedding pictures and pictures with their first child.

Angela Madsen, Lillian Jensen and Lubbers won the frog favors at their tables. Jackie Fuher won a frog yard fountain for the door prize donated by the hostesses. The $5 annual dues for 2012-2013 were collected.

It was announced that Jewel Eleanor Glenney had moved to Florida.
