Escape to the Lake planned Saturday

The North Dakota Association for the Disabled, Inc, Texas Adaptive Aquatics, and Sporting Chance will be sponsoring the 18th Annual Escape to the Lake Saturday at Nelson Lake, near Center, N.D. This is an adaptive water skiing event in which people with physical disabilities are given the opportunity to water ski.

The North Dakota Association for the Disabled, Inc, Texas Adaptive Aquatics, and Sporting Chance will be sponsoring the 18th Annual Escape to the Lake Saturday at Nelson Lake, near Center, N.D. This is an adaptive water skiing event in which people with physical disabilities are given the opportunity to water ski.

Participants from around the state come for this opportunity to discover water skiing at the second largest adaptive water skiing event in the nation. Professional instructors from Texas Adaptive Aquatics will provide training and specialized water skiing equipment for those participating. NDAD and Sporting Chance in Bismarck will donate time and equipment for the weekend.

This year’s “Escape to the Lake” will include a 1 p.m. ski show on Saturday featuring Aqua Addicts from Aberdeen, S.D. Additional sponsors include Revolutions Power Sports, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Capital Electric Cooperative and MDU Resources Foundation, among others. The event is free.
