Cargill awards scholarship

Cargill has awarded a $1,000 college scholarship to London Lloyd of Valley City, a 2012 graduate of Valley City High School. In addition, as part of the Cargill Community Scholarship Program, the high school will also receive $200 from Cargill in Lloyd’s honor to support the school library.

“We are pleased to recognize London with this award and Valley City High School for its dedicated work as well,” said Mitch Gardner, manager of Cargill Malt in Spiritwood, N.D. “Cargill supports education programs in our communities because today’s young people are tomorrow’s leaders.”

This year, 350 students living in communities where Cargill operates will receive an award through the Cargill Community Scholarship Program. Students are selected based on academic achievement and leadership in school and community activities.
