GRAND FORKS (AP) — The NCAA sent a Division I football championship banner to a university in North Dakota.

The only problem is it went to the wrong school.

Officials said the 2011 NCAA Division 1 football championship banner intended for North Dakota State University in Fargo was sent to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. NDSU won the title in January after beating Sam Houston State in Frisco, Texas.

The package listed Brian Faison as the athletics director of North Dakota State University in Grand Forks.

Faison is the athletics director for UND in Grand Forks. Gene Taylor is the athletics director for NDSU in Fargo.

Faison says he will call Taylor and tell him the banner is at UND.
