Jamestown Fire Department calls:
June 1: 1:55 a.m., the fire department responded to Interstate 94 (exit 258) where it meets U.S. Highway 281 to a report of a vehicle fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause: undetermined. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 50 minutes.
June 1: 7:18 p.m., the ready squad responded to 805 20th St. SW (Pizza Ranch) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire but none was found. Cause: accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.
June 11: 10:45 a.m., the ready squad responded to 5855 Third St. SE (Cavendish Farms) to investigate a fire alarm activation. Firefighters spoke with an employee who said there was a fire in the fryer and the suppression system extinguished the fire. Time out: 25 minutes.
June 11: 1:29 p.m., the fire department responded to Kroeze Hall, Jamestown College, to a report of a Dumpster on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause: juvenile fire play. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 40 minutes.
June 11: 11:40 p.m., ready squad responded to 715 Third Ave. SE (James House) to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke and fire and found smoke was present. Entire fire department was paged out for additional assistance.
June 11: 11:46 p.m., fire department responded to 715 Third Ave. SE (James House) to a report of smoke. Firefighters exhausted smoke from the building and investigated. Cause: unattended cooking. Fire alarm was reset. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 1 hour.
