LaMoure gains Legion split

LaMoure split four games this week, going 1-1 in section games and 1-1 in non-league affairs.

They opened with a 6-3 win over Carrington in a Section 2 American Legion contest on Wednesday at Townsend Field.

Brady Thielges powered the win, going 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, stolen base and two runs scored. Tyler Thielges and Zach Stemen had RBIs, while Tanner Carlson had a hit and scored twice.

Beau Deigel went the first six innings on the mound, allowing three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts to get the win. Stemen fanned two of the three hitters he faced to get the save.

Scott Engelhorn had two of Carrington’s six hits. Taylor Skytland and Kyle Bahm doubled. Austin Hewitt had two RBIs.

Clay Heinley twirled a three-hit shutout in Game 2 as Carrington notched a 1-0 five-inning win. He finished with a pair of Ks.

Heinley also had two hits and stole two bags. Bahm had a hit and RBI, while Henson had a hit and scored a run.

Tyler Thielges, Devin Pedersen and Kenny Hodem had the LaMoure hits.

On Thursday, Lisbon scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings en route to a 4-2 Section 2 win at Sandager Field over LaMoure.

Trent Toso went the distance on the mound for LaMoure, allowing just four hits.

Tyler Mittleider had a single, RBI and run for the winners. Ryan Lyons and Jace Berg added singles and one run apiece.

Jared Meiklejohn walked twice, singled and scored a run for LaMoure. Kenny Hodem had a single, run and stolen base.

LaMoure finished the four-game set with a 4-1 win over Lisbon in the non-section game.

Tyler Thielges got the win on the mound and brother Brady earned the save.

Stemen had a hit and run. Carlson chipped in with a single and RBI as LaMoure improved to 6-4 overall.
