No arrests made at sobriety checkpoint

The North Dakota Highway Patrol in conjunction with the Ransom County Sheriff’s department conducted a sobriety checkpoint in Ransom County that began at 11:30 p.m. on June 16 and ended at 1 a.m. on June 17.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol in conjunction with the Ransom County Sheriff’s department conducted a sobriety checkpoint in Ransom County that began at 11:30 p.m. on June 16 and ended at 1 a.m. on June 17. The checkpoint yielded no arrests and no drivers were tested for impairment.

Five patrol troopers saturated Ransom County from the evening hours of June 15 until the early morning hours of June 17. The saturation of Ransom County yielded 35 citations and 27 written warnings from traffic stops. Of the citations issued, 14 were for criminal violations where a suspect was arrested. The arrests made in and around the Ransom County area consisted of two DUI arrests, six drug arrests, five minor in possession/consumption of alcohol arrests, and one driving under suspension arrest.
