A semi driver struck the same railroad crossing arm Monday on Third Street Southeast in Jamestown that was hit Sunday by another semi driver, according to Cpl. Brian Miller of the Jamestown Police Department.
Miller said it was an apparent hit-and-run accident and the JPD had yet to track down the driver as of press time.
The driver was turning right from 12th Avenue Southeast onto Third Street when it struck the railroad crossing arm.
The call to report the incident came in to the Law Enforcement Center at 3:02 p.m. Monday.
BNSF Railway workers were on the scene less than an hour after Monday’s accident to begin making the necessary repairs to the railroad crossing arm.
Miller said the accident is still under investigation.
