Man pleads not guilty to trespass
A homeless man accused of breaking into a Bismarck home and putting on the clothes of the woman who lives there has pleaded not guilty.
BISMACRK (AP) — A homeless man accused of breaking into a Bismarck home and putting on the clothes of the woman who lives there has pleaded not guilty.
The Bismarck Tribune reported that 48-year-old Richard Summers pleaded not guilty Monday to a felony criminal trespass charge.
Prosecutors said Summers walked uninvited into a Bismarck home on May 19. When officers arrived, they allegedly found Summers wearing women’s clothing belonging to the wife of the man who called police.
Summers remains in the custody of the Burleigh County Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 cash bond. Summers could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 16.
