Jaws take fourth at meet

Two Jamestown Jaws swim team members earned first-place honors at the Aberdeen Summer High Point Meet last weekend. Erin Hart accumulated 54 points to win the 17-to-19-year old division. Hart, a former Blue Jay standout, swam, will compete for St. Cloud State in this fall.

Two Jamestown Jaws swim team members earned first-place honors at the Aberdeen Summer High Point Meet last weekend.

Erin Hart accumulated 54 points to win the 17-to-19-year old division. Hart, a former Blue Jay standout, swam, will compete for St. Cloud State in this fall.

Jessica Moritz, another former JHS performer, finished with 47 points to claim top honors in the 20-and-over division.

The Jamestown Jaws team, coached by Ben Smith, had 21 swimmers compete in the large meet, which included over 700 participants.

Jamestown placed fourth of the seven teams from North Dakota in the meet with 200 points.

Annie Hart placed six in the 15-16 division for Jamestown with 34 points.

Kamie Wagar was ninth in the 17-19 with 23 points, giving the Jaws two of the top placers in the division.

In the boys 15-16 grouping, Colt Rasmussen (13), Andrew Oslund (10), Curtis Grant (4) and Hunter Boehm (2) placed 11-13-17-21.

Other places were Luke Allen and Chea Baugh.

The Jaws are back in action June 30-July 1 in Mandan.
