Letter to the editor: Get it over with and demolish the old courthouse

The June 4 issue of The Jamestown Sun carried a story concerning the fate of the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse. There is only one solution — knock it down.

The June 4 issue of The Jamestown Sun carried a story concerning the fate of the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse. There is only one solution — knock it down. The same question arose 10 or so years ago, when someone came up with the idea that great and wonderful things could be done with it — remodel it, have a café in it, a stage, put on plays, etc. Trying to do anything with it would only cost more money. Drop it into its own basement, and you could solve the problem. Sure, it would cost some money to demolish it, but it would be a one-time cost, not an ongoing cost.
