FL company ordered to stop doing business in ND

North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEHN’-juhm) has ordered a Florida-based company and its operators to stop doing business in North Dakota.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEHN’-juhm) has ordered a Florida-based company and its operators to stop doing business in North Dakota.

Stenehjem says The Media Hook Inc. and operators Christopher Clarke and Carlos Rivas violated North Dakota's consumer fraud law. He says The Media Hook sold business opportunity schemes that falsely claim to generate income for large up-front fees.

Calls to the company's telephone number would not go through on Thursday. The company did not immediately respond a request for comment emailed by The Associated Press.
