Stemen, LaMoure sweep Enderlin

Zach Stemen dominated on the mound and at the plate as LaMoure routed Enderlin 11-3 in Game 1 of Wednesday’s American Legion doubleheader.

Post 19 improved to 11-8 overall and is 5-1 in Section 2 play after completing the sweep 8-1 in the nightcap.

In the opener, Stemen connected for a grand slam in the top of the first inning and Post 19 never looked back. Stemen finished 3-for-4 with five RBIs overall. On the mound the big right-hander struck out seven and surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

Brady Thielges added a solo home run as part of his two-hit day. He also scored three runs. Jared Meiklejohn was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, an RBI and two runs scored. Beau Diegel also had a three-hit outing and scored twice.

Thomas Lindgren paced Enderlin, going 2-for-3 with a double, stolen base and two RBIs.

Kenny Hodem allowed just one run on four hits in the second game as Post 19 cruised 8-1 in the non-league contest.

Chris Heinrich had two hits and scored twice to lead LaMoure. Meiklejohn also had a pair of knocks and Brady Thielges added two RBIs.
