GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Tennessee woman accused of flying to North Dakota last year to have sex with a 16-year-old boy has been convicted of sex crimes.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that jurors deliberated for less than half an hour Thursday before finding 47-year-old Cynthia Kusy guilty. She faces up to 15 years in prison when she is sentenced Oct. 3.
Kusy was accused of sending sexually explicit messages to the boy over the Internet, meeting him at a Grand Forks motel in April 2011 for three nights, and a week later taking him to Knoxville, Tenn., without telling his mother.
Kusy tells the Herald that she has a husband and teenage son in Tennessee. She declined comment on the verdict.
