There were four injuries as part of a two-vehicle crash about seven miles west of Ellendale, N.D., on Thursday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

According to the patrol, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, two vehicles were driving westbound on Highway 11 about seven miles west of Ellendale.

Ronda Flynn, 50, Ellendale, was driving a 2002 Ford Super Duty pickup ahead of Roberta Moldenhauer-Kronberg, 18, Forbes, N.D, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet pickup.

Moldenhauer-Kronberg attempted to pass Flynn in the eastbound lane, but Flynn swerved over the center line while being overtaken.

Flynn then struck Moldenhauer-Kronberg’s vehicle with her front left and left side, leading both vehicles off the road before coming to rest in a ditch.

Moldenhauer-Kronberg in addition to her two passengers — Gus Kronberg, 13, and Bordy Jerome, 13, both of Forbes — were injured. Flynn was also injured, and all four occupants of the two vehicles were taken by ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D.

Moldenhauer-Kronberg and her two passengers were all wearing seatbelts but Flynn was not.

According to the patrol, the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
