Dickinson retailer to reopen following fire

A manager says fire damage to a Dickinson's JC Penney store has been fixed and the store will reopen Saturday.

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — A manager says fire damage to a Dickinson's JC Penney store has been fixed and the store will reopen Saturday.

Penney's manager Doug Erickson told the Dickinson Press that about 80 percent of the merchandise was replaced because of smoke damage from the June 15.

The fire started on a clothes rack and prompted an evacuation.

A clothes rack caught fire, prompting an evacuation. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The store is located in Dickinson's Prairie Hills Mall.
