The Japanese ambassador to the U.S. is scheduled to visit North Dakota on July 31.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The Japanese ambassador to the U.S. is scheduled to visit North Dakota on July 31.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that Ambassador Ichiro Fujisaki is planning to stop in Bismarck and Grand Forks.

An official of the Japanese consulate in Chicago says the ambassador is checking on the Dakotas and meeting with the Japanese community in the area.
