Fireworks enthusiasts will have three chances to enjoy the sights and sounds of pyrotechnics this week in the area.
At dusk on Wednesday, fireworks displays will occur at Sanborn, New Rockford and Kulm as part of each community’s Fourth of July celebrations.
Activities in Sanborn include a parade at 10 a.m., pickup pull at 11 a.m. and demolition derby at 2 p.m.
The fireworks display in New Rockford wraps up four days of activities. Events on Wednesday include a parade at 10 a.m. at New Rockford and 11:30 a.m. at Sheyenne.
The fireworks show in Kulm will be the final event in the town’s annual Windfest celebration. Earlier events include games, a water fight for children and music from 3 to 5 p.m.; brats, footlongs and fixings for a freewill offering at Schnabel Auction; T-ball and slow-pitch baseball from 7 to 8 at the ball diamond; a community softball game from 8 to 10 at the ball diamond; and root beer floats served at the ball diamond from 7 to 10 p.m.
Fireworks in Jamestown are scheduled for the conclusion of the races at the Jamestown Speedway on Saturday. The display is centered at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds but is visible in much of the community.
