UPDATED: JFD responds to reports of smoke at apartment building

Jamestown Fire Department units responded at about 10:15 a.m. to a fire alarm in an apartment building located at 615 16th Ave. N.E.

Jamestown Fire Department units responded at about 10:15 a.m. to a fire alarm in an apartment building located at 615 16th Ave. N.E.

Initial reports heard on a police department scanner indicated smoke coming from one of the apartments at the location.

Firefighters reported a kitchen fire which they classified as under control at about 10:40 a.m.

JFD units remain on the scene venting smoke from the building as of 11 a.m.
