DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Health care officials are speeding up plans for a new hospital in the booming North Dakota oil patch city of Dickinson.
St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center plans to break ground in late summer or early fall for a new hospital and medical office building. President and CEO Reed Reyman says the project will cost about $100 million and is to be completed by 2015.
Reyman tells The Dickinson Press that the original intent was to start construction five to seven years down the road, but the timeline was accelerated due to increased activity.
The original hospital was built in 1911. Ground was broken for the oldest part of the existing facility in 1950. There have been several additions since then, the last in 2000.
