Carlson leads LaMoure past Ellendale

Tanner Carlson and Zach Stemen combined for 10 strikeouts as LaMoure Post 19 edged Ellendale 3-1 in Section 2 American Legion baseball action on Tuesday night.

Carlson fired six strong innings, allowing just one run on five hits with eight strikeouts to get the win. Stemen entered in the seventh, struck out two of the three batters he faced to nail down the save.

Brady Thielges had another big game offensively, going 3-for-4 with a run and stolen base. Stemen added a hit and an RBI, while Kenny Hodem was 1-for-3 with a run.

Bryan Weber went the distance on the mound and was effective for Ellendale, surrendering just two runs in the third and one in the fourth to Post 19.

Donovan Flaherty had two of Ellendale’s five hits.
