Weed-whacking ND man finds wallet lost in 1979Perry Tescher of Medora got his wallet back 33 years after he lost it at dance at the Golden Valley County Fairgrounds.
DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Perry Tescher of Medora got his wallet back 33 years after he lost it at dance at the Golden Valley County Fairgrounds.
Bob Schmeling discovered the billfold while weed-whacking at the fairgrounds last month. Schmeling says the wallet was buried in brush and under about an inch of dirt.
Tescher tells the Dickinson Press reports that he lost the wallet two weeks after it was given to him as a graduation gift in 1979. He says the billfold was made from slick leather and probably slid out of his pocket at the dance.
The wallet still contained Tescher's driver's license, a metal Social Security card and a miniature high school diploma but no cash.
