Two sentenced on felonies in district court
Two people were sentenced on felony charges in Southeast District Court. Eric Matthew Kagle, 24, 616 Fifth Ave. SE, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. The crime is a Class C felony punishable by five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Eric Matthew Kagle, 24, 616 Fifth Ave. SE, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. The crime is a Class C felony punishable by five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Kagle was accused of willfully causing serious body injury by rendering another person unconscious and causing a brain hemorrhage.
Judge Thomas Merrick sentenced to him 60 days in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with 13 days credit for time served. He was also sentenced to two years of supervised probation and to pay a $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee, $25 indigent defense application fee, $300 indigent recoupment and a $25 victim-witness fee.
Holly Lynn Maxwell, 26, 616 Fifth Ave. SE, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a Class C felony. She also pleaded guilty to preventing arrest or discharge of other duties, a Class A misdemeanor, and simple assault, a class B misdemeanor.
She was accused of assaulting a person, causing a broken nasal bone and knee injury, and causing bodily injury to another person. The incident occurred on or about April 11.
She was also accused of creating substantial risk of bodily injury to a public servant while resisting arrest on April 5.
The charges were consolidated for sentencing. Judge Thomas E. Merrick sentenced Maxwell to 30 days in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with credit for eight days served. She is to report to the correctional center on Aug. 1.
She was also sentenced to two years of supervised probation.
She is not to own firearms for a period of two years and must pay a $400 criminal administration fee, $100 devense/facility fee, $25 indigent defense application fee, $300 indigent recoupment fee and $25 victim-witness fee.
A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by one year in prison and a $2,000 fine. A Class B misdemeanor is punishable by 30 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
