I want to commend everyone who took part in making the Ave Maria Village Resident Recognition Banquet so special for everyone who attended.
Residents who needed assistance with wheelchairs and walkers were transported, via three buses, to the event at the Knights of Columbus. They were then aided in getting to their seat at a beautifully decorated table. Each table of six had its own staff member or volunteer acting as server who catered to their wishes.
The theme for the event was “An Evening in Paradise” and the decorations and menu were in keeping with the theme. Tim Burchill’s wife, Christine, designed a lovely tropical scene as the backdrop where each resident and his or her guest could have their picture taken. Alexis Barnick shared her talents, providing the musical entertainment during the meal .
After the meal, Tim Burchill acknowledged the life accomplishments of each resident and Peggy Widmer presented each with a colorful certificate of recognition, again reflecting the theme for the evening.
At the end of the evening, residents were again assisted with their return to Ave Maria Village.
I want everyone who took part in the planning, attention to detail, and implementation of this event to know how very much it is appreciated! I know my mother truly enjoyed the evening.
