Two sent to JRMC after five-car crash

Two people were transported to the hospital after a chain-reaction crash damaged five vehicles Sunday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
The crash happened on the 700 block of First Avenue South around 10:50 a.m.
Zachary Stiem, 19, 1417 Seventh Ave. NE, was driving a 1991 General Motors southbound on the 700 block of First Avenue. Steim rear-ended David Hennings, 46, Coon Rapids, Minn., who was driving a 2004 Chevrolet and stopped for the light.
Hennings rolled forward from the impact and rear-ended Kara Paiement, 40, 1407 Seventh Ave. NE, who was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile and stopped for the light.
Paiement then rolled forward and rear-ended Darwin Roeske, 48, 3652, 85th Ave. SE, who was driving a 2012 Ford and stopped for the light.
Roeske then rolled forward and rear-ended Kenneth Larson, 53, 805 14th St. SW, who was driving a 2010 Ford and stopped for the light.
Hennings and his passenger, Brenda Hennings, 48, Coon Rapids, were transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center by ambulance for possible injuries.
A 12-year-old child riding with Paiement, Pauline Roeske, 53, and Danielle Roeske, 21, 3652 85th Ave. SE, and Kathy Larson, 53, 805 14th St. SW, and all drivers except for Stiem complained of injuries but refused treatment.
All drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts.
Damage from the crash was estimated at $500 to the General Motors, $5,000 to the Chevrolet, $3,000 to the Oldsmobile, $2,000 to the 2012 Ford and $2,000 to the 2010 Ford.
Steim was cited for following another vehicle too closely.
