Lyons leads Lisbon over LaMoure

Derek Lyons fired a four-hit gem as Lisbon edged LaMoure 2-0 in a match-up of top teams in Section 2 American Legion baseball on Monday night at Townsend Field.

Lyons, Lisbon’s ace, recorded 15 strikeouts in the game against high-powered Post 19. He allowed just four singles and walked two.

Jared Meiklejohn was really good on the hill for LaMoure, surrendering just single runs in the fourth and sixth. He fanned eight Lisbon batters and did not issue a walk.

Trent Toso had two hits and both RBIs for Lisbon.

Tanner Carlson had half of LaMoure’s hits.

Post 19 scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth to earn a split, 7-6. LaMoure improved to 17-9 overall with the win. They’re 7-2 in section games.

Brady Thielges led Post 19’s 10-hit attack with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Lucas Madcke, Chris Heinrich and Kenny Hodem also added two hits.

Hodem worked the fifth inning on the mound to get the win.

Jace Berg had a big game at the plate for Lisbon, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of doubles. Tanner Bittner also had three hits, two runs and a pair of RBIs.
