FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The trial for a former Fargo surgeon accused of drugging and raping his wife likely will begin in November.
The Forum (http://bit.ly/LMpmO6 ) reports that Judge Douglas Herman on Wednesday set a Nov. 5 trial date for Jon Norberg, who is charged in Cass County District Court with gross sexual imposition and reckless endangerment.
Norberg is accused of having sex with his wife, Alonna Norberg, while she was on propofol, a powerful sedative.
The Associated Press typically does not identify victims of sex crimes but Alonna Norberg has spoken publicly, once to deny her husband's claims she agreed to the medication as part of treatment for a debilitating disease.
Defense attorney Robert Hoy requested the later date because he is receiving discovery information and waiting for prosecutors to release expert testimony.
