Outdoors league roundup: Weiner claims cash shoot

Perry Weiner connected on 391 of his 400 shots to claim the Hi-Over-All Trophy as the top shooter at the Buffalo City Gun Club’s Summertime Cash Shoot on July 7.

Perry Weiner connected on 391 of his 400 shots to claim the Hi-Over-All Trophy as the top shooter at the Buffalo City Gun Club’s Summertime Cash Shoot on July 7.

Weiner won the medium 22-to-24 yard Handicap shoot with a yardage of 24.5. He actually tied overall with a score of 98 with Sam Birkeland, but won the tie-breaker with a mark of 24. Weiner also took top honors in the Class A 16-yard singled event. He tied with Herman Peterson with matching 98s, but won the ensuing coin flip.

Dennis Bredahl and Duane Raddeck were also double winners.

Raddeck won the Class B 16-yard singles competition with a score of 99. He then collected top honors in the short yard 19-21 Handicap shoot in a coin flip over Chad Price after each hit on 96 attempts.

Bredahl took Class C honors in both the Class C 16-yard singles events with matching scores of 95.

Bob Reis had the top mark in any category, connecting on all 100 of his shots in the Class A 16-yard singles competition. Tom Polkinghorne also was perfect, but Reis won the extra shootout 25 to 24.

Two teams vying for fishing league crown

It’s shaping up to be a two-team race for the Stutsman County Fishing League title.

Mike Herman’s Herman Taxidermy holds a three-point edge (177-174) over Team Ranger, led by Casey Dodgson with two weeks to go.

In action on Tuesday at Pipestem Reservoir, Team Ranger had the top mark with a score of 42. Herman Taxidermy and Brent Mittleider’s The Outlaws tied for second with 39 apiece. Ron Marsolek’s Buckaroo’s were four back with 35.

Darrel Wegner’s Buffalo Builders team was fifth with 35.

Wonder Bar I posts top mark

Wonder Bar I posted the highest weekly score at the Buffalo City Gun Club Trapshooting League.

Wonder Bar I took top honors in the Browning Division in Week 7 of the league. They posted a score of 678.

Budweiser’s collected a score of 664 to once again lead the Beretta Division comfortably.

Goldade/Hammer edged out Knights of Columbus (621-618) in Remington. In Winchester, Corner Bar was two better than Dan Poland/Machine.

Jacob Wendel’s 145 was the leading score in the Knights of Columbus Youth League.

Donnie Martin, Beau Bredahl, Francis Lee, Don Erickson, Joey Nix, Adam P., Dean Rohrich, Chad Price, Dennis Bredahl, Niles Mueller and Neal Klein each connected on all 25 of their shots.
